Classical texts twice set to music

A concert in honor of Bedřich Smetana on November 10, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bedřich Smetana Museum, Novotného lávka 1, Prague 1

will open by a selection of his early songs performed by Christina Kluge. In the next program, there will always be a double set to music of the same text by composers of the 19th – 21st centuries. Juveniles will meet here with mature works, compositions directly inspired by each other and those that are more than 100 years old. Among the current authors, Zdeněk Zahradník, Jan Klusák, Jan Vičar and Martin Kux are represented. In addition to the familiar faces of the festival (reciters Marta Hrachovinová, Jaroslav Slánský, Filip Sychra, Bára Štěpánová and musicians Marie Wiesnerová – piano, Jana Krejčí – contrabassoon, Štěpán Buchar – guitar), the performers will also feature new reciters Máša Málková, Iveta Jiřičková and musicians Jakub Amcha, Dominik Timár and Daria Kassina. The program is accompanied by doc. PhDr. Věra Šustíková, Ph.D.
